Each puzzle
contains 10 or more thumbnail images, which are details of larger
pictures. When you double click on one, the entire picture appears
in a separate window. Here you can type in your answer, look at two clues
or find out the solution. Incorrect letters appear in red. Hyphenated
words are treated as two separate words, and apostrophes are, of course,
excluded.
Clicking
on CLUE #1 reveals the first hint, along with a button for CLUE
#2. The second clue is accompanied by an ANSWER button in case
you want it. Clicking on OK will enter your answer into the puzzle
and allow you to continue. Click on BACK if you choose to leave
the item unanswered and return to the puzzle.
An image
with a yellow frame illustrates a word or phrase where the spelling
has been altered slightly to create a wordplay. The first clue for these
begins with the words "Think of." In some cases, the
picture shows a combination of two things or ideas that suggest a single
word.
Wordplays
that are specific to either British or American English
have a flag icon in the lower right-hand corner of the large image.
